Schools Out

Parents in Glasgow are going into occupation of a school over the Easter break in protest at the proposed closure of a series of schools and nurseries across the city. The bailout of the banks will need to be paid for and that will mean big cuts in public spending. Expect to see more fightbacks like this in the future. We need to draw a line in the sand and say no more.

Hi there,

I realise this is a bit odd, but I'm the Speech & Debates Officer at the English-Speaking Union Scotland.

We are looking for a member of the SSP to speak in a debate next Thursday (This House Believes All The Best Goals Come From The Left Wing).

The debate is taking place on 16th April at our gallery in the West End of Edinburgh. 7pm kick off.

If you know anyone who might be interested in speaking, or you are interested yourself, please get in touch at:

debates@esuscotland.org.uk

Best wishes

Rob Marrs
